FIREWORKS AND FRIENDSHIP
The Opening Ceremony set the scene for what
was to come. As fireworks lit up the sky H.E.
Yousif Hassan Al Hammadi, Director of the
FAI World Air Games, told the Games that he
hoped they would bring people from around
the world together in a spirit of peace.
THE FLAME UNITES
FAI President Dr John Grubbström, centre,
said that he thought the ceremony was
“unforgettable”. In his address to the crowd
on the 40-metre screen he wished all the
competitors a safe, fun and enjoyable time.
