The picture of a dead-tired volunteer taking a quick nap at goal before getting on with his job sums up well the first part of these Hang Gliding Euro Class 1 and World Class 5 championships: so far a very good and very demanding event, with good conditions and long tasks set and completed.
Only Day 1 was so-so with marginal conditions: OK to send away 30 Rigid pilots but not 88 Flexible ones. Then the weather got better and better, no storm, the clouds disappearing progressively, blue skies taking over, the pilots flying the longest tasks ever set in Krushevo.
In Class 5, the current World Champion, Tim Grabowski, after a poor start, slowly climbed up to the top, winning the last 2 tasks.
In Class 1, Team Italy, unbeaten since 2009, is as impressive as ever. Check task 4 and see 5 of its 6 pilots arriving 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 within 46 seconds!
