BREITLING
Breitling, the technical watch specialist, continued as FAI’s
official sponsor in 2015. Highlightswere the two prestigious
FAI-Breitling Awards and Breitling’s full branding and
support to selected FAI Category 1 events.
FAI-Breitling Awards
The 2015 Breitling Milestone Trophy was awarded to Alan
Eustace from USA, who set three world records with his
stratospheric parachuting jump.
The 2015 Breitling Youngster Award was given to Jarrett
Martin fromUSA for his active participation in parachuting
competitions, which set a new standard for what young
athletes with physical disabilities can do in air sports.
The two awards were presented by FAI President Dr. John
Grubbström at the Awards Ceremony of the FAI General
Conference, in the presence ofMonikaPieren fromBreitling
and record-breaking balloon pilot Brian Jones.
Competitions
In 2015, the following Category 1 events were granted
support and branding by Breitling:
−− 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championships
−− 59th Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett
−− 6th FAI World Sailplane Grand Prix Championship
Furthermore, Breitling contributed to the success of the
FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015 by bringing the Breitling
Wing Walkers to the air shows and supporting the VIP
event organised by FAI.

Created in 2003, the Red Bull Air Race has been followed
by millions of fans at over 50 races held worldwide. The
RedBull Air RaceWorld Championship features theworld’s
best race pilots in a pure motor-sport competition that
combines speed, precision and skill. The pilots use the
fastest,most agile and lightweight racing planes tonavigate
a predefined, low-level aerial racetrack of air-filled pylons
(air gates) with the aim of finishing in the fastest time
possible, incurring as few penalties as possible.
The FAI is delighted to have been the partner of such a
thrilling and successful series as the Red Bull Air Race
since 2005. According to the agreement between both
parties, the Federation provides FAI medals especially
designed for the Red Bull Air Race; all races are included
in the FAI Events Calendar; and the FAI approves the race
Rules &Regulations. Furthermore, an FAI Safety Delegate
attends all events to supervise safety aspects.
The2015seasonof theRedBull AirRaceWorldChampionship
featuredeight locations spanning four continents. The series
started in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), followed by
stops inChiba (Japan), Rovinj (Croatia), Budapest (Hungary),
Ascot (United Kingdom), Spielberg (Austria), Fort Worth
(USA), and endingwith the finale in Las Vegas (USA). British
pilot Paul Bonhomme won the overall Championship for
a third time.
