In 2014, the integration of the FAI Aviation and Space
Education Commission into the FAI Expert System
was completed by converting it into an Expert Group.
This change was approved at the 108th FAI General
Conference.
The 2014 edition of the FAI Young Artists Contest,
a painting competition where youngsters have the
opportunity to show their talent and passion for flight,
experienced growing success.
FAI YOUNG ARTISTS CONTEST
The FAI Young Artists Contest saw a considerable and
satisfying increase in the number of participating countries
which passed from 14 in 2013 to 21 in 2014 thanks to the
involvement of Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic,
France, Finland, India, Italy, Japan, Libya, Lithuania,
Mongolia, Nepal, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland,
Turkey, Ukraine and USA.
The theme for the 2014 contest was “Flying Saves Lives”.
Thewinners for the 3 age categories (6-9, 10-13, 14-17 years
old) were chosen by the Jury at the Annual Meeting of the
Commission and receivedFAI Gold, Silver or BronzeMedals.

MEETING
The last Annual Meeting of the Commission took place in
Lausanne, Switzerland, on 25 and 26 April 2014.
