Table of ContentsRaising awareness about environmental issues within
the air sports community and informing the public about
the Federation’s efforts to respect the environment are
the FAI Environmental Commission’s main missions.
In 2014, the FAI Medico-Physiological Commission
continued in its mission to help athletes achieve safe
and healthy performance. Its Delegates interacted
on various levels as recognised experts who are in
general experienced physicians, pilots and aeromedical
specialists serving as advisors for their respective
National Aero Clubs, governmental authorities and other
aerospace related organisations. As FAI representatives
they counselled the Federation on medical and
physiological questions related to air sports.

−− Presentation of air sports and the environment
which will enable the Air Sports Commissions’
Delegates and the FAI Members to provide clear and
concise information to all their national and local
organisations
−− Development of low-emission and electric classes,
with the help of the FAI Aerobatics Commission
−− Support for the creation of Certificates of
Airworthiness for electric aircraft
MEETING
The Delegates of the Commissionmet on 8 February 2014
at the Aero Club d’Italia in Rome, Italy.
The Commission focused mainly on:
−− Anti-Doping: suggestions to the World Anti-Doping
Agency (WADA) by the FAI Anti-Doping Advisory
Group aiming at lightening the burden on the athletes
designated to be part of the Registered Testing Pool;
new WADA rules coming into force on 1 January 2015
−− Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) Panel: support to
the air sports participants wishing to obtain waivers
−− Human factors in air sports: briefings for the benefit
of the Air Sport Commissions and ultimately the
athletes
−− Participation and attendance at Medical
Conferences, including the WADA TUE Symposium
