CASI
www.fai.org / general-air-sportIn 2014 the FAI Air Sport General Commission continued
in its role to further the unity of all air sports within FAI
through the implementation of the FAI Statutes, By-
Laws and Sporting Code.
SPORTING CODE GENERAL SECTION
A complete review of the Sporting Code General Section
was carried out.
HUMAN-POWERED FLIGHT
A set of rules for Human Powered Flight competitions was
prepared for this new discipline by a workgroup headed
by the FAI Aeromodelling Commission’s President. The
discipline falls within the framework of the FAI Amateur-
Built and Experimental Aircraft Commission.
SOLAR-POWERED FLIGHT
Projects to fly using only the energy of the sun enticed
CASI and the FAI Amateur-Built and Experimental Aircraft
Commission (CIACA) to set new rules for solar airplanes.
A newSection 13 for solar-powered flight was introduced
and transferred to CIACA.
CASI COMPOSITION
CASI comprises 10 members selected from the National
Airsport Control organisations (NACs), and a representative
from each of the Air Sport Commissions (currently 11).
The CASI NAC Members for 2014 / 2015 are as follows,
listed alphabetically: Australia, Canada, Czech Republic,
Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden, SwitzerlandandUSA.
APPEALS
In 2014, several International Appeals Tribunals were
established by the FAI Air Sport General Commission to
hear andmake final judgement on appeals against decision
relating to disputes of sporting nature.
MEETING
The Delegates of the Commissionmet in Pattaya, Thailand,
on 16 October 2014, one day before the start of the FAI
General Conference.
