FAI World Air Games

Games are a combination of elite competition and
spectacular demonstrations, which exemplify the very
best that air sports have to offer. The 4th edition was
awarded in 2014 to the United Arab Emirates and will
be held in Dubai. It will be organised by the Emirates
Aerosports Federation and will take place from 1 to 12
December 2015.
The FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015 will include 11 air
sports, namely Aerobatics, Aeromodelling, Amateur-
Built and Experimental Aircraft, Ballooning, General
Aviation, Gliding, Microlights, Paramotors, Paragliding,
Parachuting and Rotorcraft.
FAI President Dr. John Grubbström declared:
“It was a pleasure for me to announce that the FAI World
Games 2015 would be held in Dubai. Air sports are growing
rapidly in this part of the world and we are confident that
with their successful experience in event hosting and air
sport competition organisation, Dubai will bring this event
to a new level.”
“TheFAIWorldAir Games is anabsolutely thrilling competition
which showcases the best of air sports. Every single detail
of each event will be thought through to communicate the
excitement and joy of air sports to the spectators on-site
and to the television viewers”,
he added
. “I also know how
much it means for an athlete to participate in what is the
“Olympiad” of air sports, as I once had the privilege to
compete as a ballooning pilot in this event. I cannot wait
for next year to attend the Games in Dubai, in front of the
spectacular skyline.”
With the Games, the FAI will strive to foster new vocations
andmotivate newgenerations for air sportswhile promoting
ethical values such asmutual understanding and respect.
Among the objectives are also the promotion of FAI and
air sports, and the building of a legacy for the next FAI
World Air Games.
