The FAI Environmental Commission has been acting quietly for years, considering and preparing advice for all sporting and recreational aviators. The original challenge was to provide the basics for establishing a code, a presence on the FAI website and setting up standards for air sports environmentally friendly activities. When these tasks were completed, one might think that EnvC just has to wait for some opportunities to arise to speak of birds and flowers alongside our beautiful flying sites. It may not be the case. FAI Invites Nominations for the Breitling Milestone Trophy and the Breitling Youngster Award

We are now calling for nominations for the FAI-Breitling Awards for 2015: the Breitling Milestone Trophy and the Breitling Youngster Award. Both awards will be presented in September at the Awards Ceremony of the FAI General Conference in Rotterdam (Netherlands), where the winners will be invited and hosted by Breitling. The FAI has today announced the list of the 11 sports and 24 disciplines selected for the FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015. Two Eagles Balloon landed on Saturday just off the Baja coast near La Poza Grande in Mexico, at six days, 16 hours and 37 minutes into the mission after taking off from Saga, Japan, on Sunday 25 January. The pilots Troy Bradley and Leonid Tiukhtyaev made a controlled descent to a gentle water landing about four miles off the Baja coast. They have been picked up by a fishing boat and taken to shore. The FAI has announced the winners of the 2014 FAI Awards and FAI-Breitling Award, celebrating the outstanding dedication and contribution to air sports. The ceremony took place last night in Pattaya, Thailand, as part of the 108th FAI General Conference which is held today and tomorrow, and hosted by the Royal Aeronautic Sports Association of Thailand (RASAT). For the first time, live streaming allowed people from all around the world to be in the heart of the event. Judging from the amount of views and comments, this new feature was a complete success.
