The FAI is pleased to announce that Glider Aerobatics, Parachuting Canopy Piloting and Paramotors have been selected by the IWGA (International World Games Association) for The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland. The FAI and Breitling are pleased to announce the FAI World Championships events selected for full Breitling branding and support for 2014. This year the focus is on a smaller number of events and an increased emphasis on supporting the events and creating a great image of these events which will benefit the events themselves, the FAI and Breitling. Today is the 7th flying day at the 16th FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championships and 4th FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championships. There is one pilot left to fly to have the first Known Compulsory for both categories completed. The forecast for today is better and the Organisers aim to have all 59 pilots to fly their free. The 15th FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championships (Unlimited Category) and the 3rd FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championships have come to a close in Dubnica nad Váhom, Slovakia on Saturday, August 18th, 2012. The new FAI World Glider Aerobatic Champion (Unlimited) is Maciej Pospieszynski (below) of Poland flying a Swift S-1. Ferenc Toth of Hungary was in second place, also in a Swift. Nine of the best aerobatic pilots in the world competed in Latvia this weekend for the 2011 Riga FAI Elite Aerobatic Formula organised by renowned Lithuanian pilot Jurgis Kairys. The skills and manoeuvres of the pilots wowed the large crowd gathered in the centre of Riga to admire the competition taking place over the Dauguva river.
