Châteauroux Welcomes the Pilots of the 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championship

chateauroux-opening-ceremonyComing from all parts of the globe, the participants in the 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championship received a warm welcome by the population of Châteauroux, France, this afternoon. Crowds cheered the pilots as they paraded down the streets of the city until the main place, where more than 2000 people had gathered to greet them and attend the opening ceremony. Officials' speeches were followed by two spectacular passages of the French Air Force display team and an aerial dance show.

28th FAI World Aerobatic Championships in France in August 2015

wac2015From August 20 to August 29, 2015, the 60 best aerobatic pilots in the world will gather in Châteauroux, in the Center region of France, to compete for the most coveted of all aerobatic titles. The partially renewed French team will defend its four titles won in the Individual, Team, Male, and Female categories during the last world championships in Texas in 2013.  The French Aeronautical Federation (FFA) is organizing this sporting event and will also offer the public a number of attractions on the ground to complete the aerobatic performances. The event will end on Saturday August 29 with a giant free-admission airshow.

FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015 Flame Handover Ceremony and Airshow to Take Place on 28 May in Lausanne

In that frame, we are trying to inssure that all athletes participating in FAI sanctioned events (any event registered in the FAI Calendar) and who may therefore be subject to doping control must request a TUE before taking a prohibited medication.

An international jury selected the three best paintings for each of the categories: Junior (ages 6-9), Intermediate (ages 10-13), Senior (ages 14-17). FAI Environmental Commission Newsletter - April 2015

envc-newsletterThe FAI Environmental Commission has been acting quietly for years, considering and preparing advice for all sporting and recreational aviators. The original challenge was to provide the basics for establishing a code, a presence on the FAI website and setting up standards for air sports environmentally friendly activities.

When these tasks were completed, one might think that EnvC just has to wait for some opportunities to arise to speak of birds and flowers alongside our beautiful flying sites. It may not be the case.

FAI Invites Nominations for the Breitling Milestone Trophy and the Breitling Youngster Award

Both awards will be presented in September at the Awards Ceremony of the FAI General Conference in Rotterdam (Netherlands), where the winners will be invited and hosted by Breitling.
