Start of the 32th FAI World Gliding Championships

torch litThe 32th FAI World Gliding Championships started yesterday in the beautiful and historical airfield of Otto Ballot in Adolfo Gonzales Chaves, Argentina.

The representatives of 24 Countries are enjoying the warm Argentinian hospitality. A nice Opening Ceremony was held in town on Saturday and the competition started yesterday.

In the morning, the three current World Champions Sebastian Kawa (Standard Class), Arndt Hovenstadt (Club Class) and Laurent Couture (World Class champion two times consecutively) lit the torch during the flag-raising ceremony.

Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so far, but we expect an improvement in the coming days.
