Please find below the main decisions and discussions during the meeting:

Discussions

  • The FAI Strategic Plan and related action points including the multi-discipline and air games concept was presented by FAI Secretary General, Ms. Susanne Schödel.

  • FAI was present at the last JARUS (Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems) meeting. FAI was one of the SCBs (Special Consultation Body) amongst many other and mostly commercial representatives.

  • The Commission thanked Mr. Srdjan PELAGIC (SRB) for his 60 years of involvement in aeromodelling activities, 40 years as CIAM delegate and 20 years as chairman of the space modelling sub-committee and also Mr. Gerhard Wöbbeking who served CIAM as Eduction S/C Chairman and also as CIAM VP for more than 15 years. Delegates recognized these outstanding lifetime contribution to air sports with standing ovation.

  • A discussion was also related to Drones. FAI has set the rules and together with the know-how and knowledge of all worldwide Members the aim is to develop attractive Drone racing events and to transform each Drone racing pilot into a responsible sports pilot. As a result, a provisional class F3U – RC Multi-Rotor FPV Racing has been implemented, as well as a CIAM sub-committee named “FPV racing and similar activities”.

  • A presentation of the existing “Live Scoring” systems was performed so that both CIAM Sub Committees Chairmen and Delegates consider the use of them while generating new rules with main scope to attract the sponsors and the spectators.
