In 2016 19 World Cup events were organized on three continents: Europe, Asia and North America. The competitions were held in 12 countries: Belarus, Slovakia (2), Russia (3), Bulgaria (2), Czech Republic, Poland (2), Latvia, Serbia (2), USA, Slovenia (2), Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Hat-trick: World's best indoor radio-controlled aerobatic pilot wins FAI World Championships for a record third time

Gernot BruckmannGernot Bruckmann (left), a professional radio-controlled aeromodel pilot from Austria, won gold at the 2017 FAI F3P World Championship for Indoor Aerobatic Model Aircraft in France, when it finished at the weekend. The win came after a close-fought week-long competition that was held at the Rotonde Gymnasium in Strasbourg between 19-25 February 2017.

The 2016 FAI World Championships for Space Models in Lviv (UKR) were a full success!

Jan sebesta_croppedThe 2016 FAI World Championships for Space Models in Lviv, Ukraine, concluded on Sunday with Jan Sebesta from the Czech Republic winning the scale (S7) model competition. Sebesta’s model of the Saturn V not only impressed the judges with its lifelike accuracy, but during the confirmation flight it performed flawlessly, separating into five parts on cue, and returning to the ground with streamers and parachutes slowing its descent.

JudgeJan Sebesta from the Czech Republic (CZE) has won the scale (S7) model competition in the 2016  FAI S World Championship for Space Models. Saturday results at the 2016 FAI S World Championships for Space Models in Lviv, Ukraine

Saturday results_It was close contest at the 2016 FAI S World Championship for Space Models as the under 18s went head to head in the scale altitude (S5B) rocket category. Michal Bobrowski from Poland flew the highest flight with his 1:4.5 scale replica of the American Arcas rocket reaching 361m. Bobrowski said “I chose it for it’s simplicity. It’s a single stage rocket and the design is very aerodynamic.”
