RICHARD FENWICK - PRESIDENT OF HONOUR CIG

It is with great sadness and deep regret that I have been informed that Richard was involved in an aviation accident on 14th July 2008 (French National Holiday). Richard was President of the Commission and an organiser of helicopter events including the World Championship in Chantilly, France. Richard was a highly experienced pilot not only of helicopters but fixed wing and microlights. I met Richard in the early 1980’s when, at the time, I visited Paris very regularly on FAI Matters. On several occasions I had the honour of being invited to attend meetings of the Council of the Aero Club de France as a guest. Richard will be missed not only as a fine aviator, but also as a gentleman and an ambassador for France. The Commission joins with me in extending to his Widow and his Family our deepest sympathies in their great loss. Our thoughts are with them. David Hamilton CIG President
