Main decisions taken at the FAI Rotorcraft Commission 2012 Annual Meeting

logo cig 01 cmyk-ptThe 2012 Annual Meeting of the FAI Rotorcraft Commission (CIG) was held on 8 and 9 March 2012 in Lausanne (Switzerland).

Here are the main decisions that have been taken during the meeting:

  • The Commission has appointed an Anti-Doping Advisor to provide further guidance to the Commission.
  • Freestyle – On the grounds of safety the Commission has agreed to enlarge the box for the freestyle to 1,000 metres x 1,000 metres by 300 metres.
  • Micro-light Helicopters – The Commission are preparing special competitions for micro-light helicopters, i.e. those of the lowest category. And will include them in Rules for all Competitions. These will be approved by the Bureau in the course of the next two months and published.

Future competition

The new CIG Online Competition is ready and will be launched after the Annual Meeting. The first year will be 1 April to 1 August 2012 and the prize will be awarded at the 14th FAI World Helicopter Championship.

Sporting Code Changes

Amendments will be included in the 2013 Version of Sporting Code Section 9.
