More than 100 microlight and paramotor pilots are in England this week, 20-27 August 2016, competing in the FAI World Microlight and Paramotor Championships. A three day workshop took place this week in Wroclaw, Poland, as part of the preparation for the World Games 2017. The attendees included the Event Directors and Officials of the three disciplines selected to the World Games 2017, FAI Member Representatives from France and Hungary, the Director of the Wroclaw Aeroclub and FAI Head Office staff. Poland’s Wojciech Bogdal has won the Paramotoring competition at The World Games. After flying 9 tasks over three days he ended with a convincing win, 8 points ahead of Thailand’s Kittiphop Phrommat in second.
It was a perfect day of flying at the Air Sports competitions at The World Games in Wroclaw, Poland, on Saturday 22 July, with all three air sports completing two full competition sessions.
The first day of Air Sports competition at The World Games in Wroclaw, Poland was a huge success, with good flying weather allowing every discipline tocomplete a double session of competition flying.
The World Games 2017 opened in spectacular style in the city of Wroclaw, Poland on Thursday night, 20 July 2017, with an opening ceremony of light, sound and music in front of 35,000 people.
Sixty-six international air sports athletes will compete in three different air sports at the World Games in Poland. Parachuting Canopy Piloting, Glider Aerobatics and Paramotoring will all feature over four days from 20-23 July 2017.
France’s Alex Mateos continued his domination of the international paramotoring competition scene with a strong win at the 9th FAI Paramotoring World Championships in Popham, England last week, 20-27 August 2016.
The 
Alex Mateos won the 2nd FAI European Slalom Paramotor Championships in Spain in June. This was only the second time this competition has been held in this rapidly evolving discipline.
