The two final dates in the Red Bull Air Race 2017 calendar have been announced. Porto in Portugal and the Lausitzring in Germany will be the sixth and seventh stops on the eight-stop international tour.
Dutchman Frits Brink, 70, was elected the new President of the FAI, World Air Sports Federation, in October 2016.
Gernot Bruckmann (left), a professional radio-controlled aeromodel pilot from Austria, won gold at the 2017 FAI F3P World Championship for Indoor Aerobatic Model Aircraft in France, when it finished at the weekend. The win came after a close-fought week-long competition that was held at the Rotonde Gymnasium in Strasbourg between 19-25 February 2017.
Meet 17-year-old Korean drone pilot GaYeon Mo, whose years of Taekwondo and Wushu training showed her she could take on the boys and win!
Today, five years ago on 17 February 2012, Indian pilot Parmjit Singh, used a special harness, the Aeros Discus 14 with a Radne Motor AB Raket 120, to fly a record distance in a straight line without landing of 313.13 km from Bikaner to Sanderav in Rajasthan, India.
This is fast developing into the latest craze. Flying small radiocontrolled multicopters via video goggles for a first-person view is becoming increasingly popular.

The FAI is planning to launch an international multi-discipline Air Games Tour which could start in the 2nd half of 2018. Touching down in up to five host cities around the world each year, each event will showcase some of the best sporting action from across the world of air sports over four days of intense activity and competition.
The FAI is delighted to announce a new strategic partnership with US asset management firm Noosphere Ventures.
