Main decisions taken at the FAI General Aviation Commission 2011 Annual Meeting

logo gac 01 cmyk-ptThe 2011 Annual Meeting of the FAI General Aviation Commission (GAC) was held on 18 and 19 November 2011 in Salzburg (Austria).

Amongst the subjects discussed during the meeting were:

  • The new and user-friendly ANR software allowing the preparation, display and scoring of Air Navigation Race (ANR) events that will be made available on the FAI website along with a user manual;
  • The progressive introduction of the Air Navigation Race (ANR) in traditional competitions, starting with the 18th FAI World Rally Flying Championship in 2012;
  • The study of the implementation of electrically-powered aircraft records within the Sporting Code Section 2;
  • The improvement of the decision-making process and the better use of information technology tools provided by the FAI to ease the communication and exchanges between GAC members all year round.

Sporting Code Changes

Amendments will be included in the 2012 Version of Sporting Code Section 2.

Award

The Charles Lindbergh General Aviation Diploma was awarded to Edward BOLEN (USA).
