Czech Duo Discus DL, piloted by Michal Lesinger and Danes Grula, was the very first glider whisked into the air by the big yellow, 800hp Čmelák at Nitra today. It was 12.30 local on the nail as all four classes set off on Area Assigned Tasks with a minimum time of 2 hours. The weather was glorious for yesterday's practice day when some pilots went all the way to the Tatras for a look and exceptional for the evening opening ceremony on the airfield but, of course, the beautiful Cu over Nitra is not spread all over the contest area today so we shall see what happens. Please turn to the contest website for the full met, tasks and results later.
