8.00  Wheels off for the start of Round 2, Distance task.  Interesting to see what today will bring.  I hope, by the end of this morning, to be able to confirm, with the Records Officer the number of records that were set yesterday.   We potentially have two new World Records and eight Continental Records.

INSTANT  RESULTS

Follow  the competition as it happens on the Instant Results page.

9.30   The upper winds are very high and this has caused aircraft problems and quite a few out landings this morning, so the competition has neen stood down whilst the situation is assessed.  The decision has already been made to rejump the complete task.

11.15   The show is back on the road - the first load is called to the loading area - Round 2, Distance starts again.

Randy Connell (IPC Records Officer) has confirmed the following records were set yesterday:

WORLD
Time, General - 94.2 secs by Chris Geiler in Time1 (also N. Amer. Cont)
Time, Female -  90.8 secs by Jackie Harper in Time1 (also EU Cont.)

CONTINENTAL

European
Time, General - 92.0 secs by Dmitry Podoryashy in Time1

North American
Speed, General - 302.0 kmh by Travis Mickle in Speed1

Oceania
Time, General - 92.5 secs by Chris Byrnes in Time2
Distance, General - 4.272 km by Chris Byrnes in Distance1

African (no previous records)
Time, General - 79.7 secs by Andrew Jan de Jonge in Time1
Distance, General - 3.607 km by Waldo Prinsloo in Distance1
Speed, General - 258.0 kmh by Waldo Prinsloo in Speed1

These are all subject to ratifaction by the FAI and of course could be superseded over the coming tasks/rounds.

14.00  After a quick briefing to explain the revised jump run (due to wind direction shift) we moved into the 6th task - Round 2 Speed.  It is busy on the drop zone today with fun jumpers and tandem loads interspersed with the competition loads so things are moving slower than yesterday.  It is one of those days, the aircraft has landed and the competition is on standby for the moment due to yet another wind change.

17.30  We still have clouds but the two rejumps are now boarding the aircraft.  We continue with the 6th task to complete round 2 with Speed.

Tomorrow the plan is to send up a "dummy" load with the tecnicians and their GPS devices to determine the wind and optimum run in, at 6.45 with first call at 7.15 for a 7.30 wheels off.
