France and Russia top Parachuting Ranking Lists for Freefall Style and Accuracy Landings

The INTERNATIONAL WORLD PARACHUTING RANKING LIST for Freefall Style and Accuracy Landings are updated. The high level of participation in Dubai increased the number of NACs placed in the ranking lists, which is positive.

In the Individual Overall Male event France  moved from their 3rd position to 1st pushing down the Czech Republic and Russia a place each.  Russia maintained their dominance of the Individual Overall  Female event with Slovenia slipping down the rankings allowing Belarus and France to move up one place each.

For Male Individual Accuracy Landings:
The top five NACs changing places with Slovenia now placed 1st (2nd previously) and Czech Republic 2nd (1st before) with Italy improving from fifth to third and Russia and France each slipping one place to 4th and 5th respectively.

For Female Individual Accuracy Landings:
Again the top five NACs changed places with Slovenia again moving from 2nd to 1st place and Belarus moving from 3rd to 2nd ; Russia slipped from their former 1st place to 3rd with France and Croatia maintaining their 4th and 5th positions.

For Male Freefall Style:
The top 7 NACs maintained their placing over both sets of rankings, which probably says a lot about the difficulty of this discipline and the loyalty of both competitors and NACs to it.  France held their 1st position. Kazakhstan being ranked for the first time.

For Female Freefall Style:
Belarus retained their 1st positionKazakhstan and Bulgaria were ranked for the first time.

Explanation on how the Rankings are calculated can be found here: LINK

Following the Dubai Mondial 2012 the latest ranking lists have been created using a base figure of 250 as opposed to the 100 used previously.  This is due to the high number of participants, particularly in the Accuracy Landings event.

In the individual events, the top placed competitor for each NAC is allocated points based on their overall position:  i.e.   1st place = 250 points, 10th place = 241, 20th = 231 on a reducing sliding scale.

These points are then multiplied by the seniority of the event:  World Parachuting Championships x 3; Continental Championships x 2; World Cup x 2

The ranking lists are calculated over a 4 year period, with the points for the year of the last competition counted at 100%; the previous year 75%; year 3, 50% and the 4th year 25%

The high level of participation in Dubai increased the number of NACs placed in the ranking lists.
