Space Modelling Tips

A. First to be in your mind

NEVER VIOLATE RULES AND REGULATIONS neither of your own country nor of a foreign country where you participate as a guest competitor. Ask first to find out what is necessary for making space models and flying them safely.

B. The most important for a spacemodeller

TAKE CARE OF YOUR AND OTHER PERSONS’ SAFETY all the time! Do not make your own engines or propellants and do not try to "improve" fabricated model rocket engines. It is strictly FORBIDDEN! At first do it in your own city - invite your friends and relatives to join you just for fun. At first organize a competition of your group. When your group grows to about 20 members establish a spacemodelling club. Later you can invite your friends from other towns to start building space models. Show them what and how you do. Try to organize a competition with them. When you get some good results you shall become proud and self-confident. Than invite your friends from the neighboring country to join you. Sometimes good promoters of spacemodelling are students from foreign countries who are studying in your country. Teach them to build and fly space models, too. So, step by step we shall have spacemodelling everywhere in the world.

C. How to spread Spacemodelling?

At first do it in your own city - invite your friends and relatives to join you just for fun. At first organize a competition of your group. When your group grows to about 20 members establish a spacemodelling club. Later you can invite your friends from other towns to start building space models. Show them what and how you do. Sometimes good promoters of spacemodelling are students from foreign countries who are studying in your country. Teach them to build and fly space models, too. So, step by step we shall have spacemodelling everywhere in the world.

D. Do not wait to long to “get ready” for international SM events

Next year sould come to the nearest World Cup contest to show spacemodelling people what you can and to see what and how they do spacemodelling. Do not hesitate to come to World Cups and Open International events. That is the best school for you. In only one event you shall achieve the following: a) you shall get a lot of new friends and establish new contacts, b) you will learn where and how to get and buy what you need for your work c) you will find out where are your skills in comparison with sportsmen from other countries and d) you will learn what to plan and work in near future. So, by only one participation in an international event you will save a lot of time and money in relation if you work alone trying to “get ready” for big events.
