The FAI Environmental Commission has recently reviewed the FAI Environmental Policy and Code and brought both sections of this up to date.
The aim of the FAI Environmental Code is:
1. to demonstrate that environmental protection and sustainability is a highly important matter for the FAI
2. to raise awareness about sustainability among air sport practitioners and stakeholders
3. to further sustainability measures and green operations among air sport practitioners
The Commission is now approaching CASI (the General Air Sports Commission) to request that the Policy and Code should be incorporated within the Sporting Code General Section, so that the information will be readily available to sporting pilots.
The Commission has responsibility within the FAI for monitoring the impact of air sports on the environment, for recommending actions and behaviours to minimise adverse impacts and for promoting good environmental practice in the context of our sports.
