The 9th edition of the World Games 2013 is now on !The World Games 2013 are officially underway in Cali, Colombia, after yesterday’s Opening Ceremony at the Pascual Guerrero stadium in front of more than 35.000 spectators. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos opened the event in the presence of FAI President John Grubbström, IOC President Jacques Rogge and International World Games Association President Ron Froehlich. World Games 2013: Time to shine for AeroMusicalsAeroMusicals, an Aeromodelling discipline that combines aerobatic skills, flying precision and music, will have a great opportunity to promote itself at the World Games 2013 which will take place from 25 July to 4 August 2013 in Cali, Colombia. Two world-class AeroMusicals pilots will showcase their sport in front of thousands of spectators and TV viewers for 5 days, in between the Ju-Jitsu and Wushu events, at the Coliseo Evangelista Mora. Tetlow to present airsports events at the World Games 2013The World Games 2013 is the biggest multi-sports event of the year and features 32 sports including parachuting canopy piloting and paragliding accuracy. The great media impact of the event, which will start on 25 July 2013, will be felt worldwide. The FAI does all that it takes to promote its sports not only to the TV spectators and press readers, but also to the public attending the event. For this reason the FAI appointed Regan Tetlow as an official presenter of the airsports events at the World Games 2013. Presentation video for the World Games 2013 - Cali, ColombiaThe World Games, which are the most important event in 2013 with 31 sports and 4000 participants, will take place in Cali, Colombia, from 24 July to 4 August 2013. Paragliding Accuracy and Parachuting Canopy Piloting feature in the programme. Both air sport events will take place at the same location on 1, 2 and 3 August 2013. Colombia takes gold at PG Accuracy World Games Test Event
After a nail-biting 6th and final round, top Colombian pilot, Ricardo Gomez gained first place in the Paragliding Accuracy World Games Test Event, which concluded successfully on Saturday in Cali, Colombia. Andy Shaw (GBR) took silver, and Miguel Martinez (COL) was in third place. Accuracy pilots prepare for World GamesRegistration is now open for the Paragliding Accuracy Test Event of the World Games! Dates are 7th to 11th August, and the venue is Cali, Colombia. There are 36 places open to paragliding accuracy pilots, and interested competitors are requested to register as soon as possible. Canopy Piloting, Accuracy Landing and Indoor AeroMusicals at the next World GamesFor the first time in its history, the FAI will have three sports present at the World Games. Both Canopy Piloting (Parachuting) and Accuracy Landing (Paragliding) feature in the competition programme of the 2013 World Games that will take place in Cali, Colombia.
