World Air Games 2009 : Aeromodelling Test Events Completed

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June, test events for Aeromodelling (Photos) were held at the Torino Aeritalia Airport, the main venue for the World Air Games 2009, and at the Palaruffini indoor venue. Rain showers prevented the conclusion of all the “Hand-Thrown Gliders” competitions, but the whole programme of “Artistic Aerobatics” and “AeroMusicals” events was completed.

A series of test competitions is being conducted throughout 2008 (Schedule) to gain experience of the World Air Games 2009 competition rules and technical infrastructure. The next test competition (Glider Racing) will take place from 15 to 22 June at the Torino Aeritalia Airport and will be part of the FAI Qualifying Sailplane GP events.   FAI news items are published in the FAI Newsletter which is sent by email approximately once a month.
