FAI Young Artists on Display at Embry-Riddle University, USA

A series of over 40 winning paintings from the FAI Young Artists Contest is currently on public display on the campus of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. The exhibition organised by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) shows how young people around the world conceive of aviation and space in their imaginations. It is open to all visitors to the University, as well as to around 1 500 students resident on Prescott Campus.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the FAI have been cooperating for some years now. The University kindly conserves all winning paintings of the FAI Young Artists Contest and has produced a CD of 20 years of winning paintings to help FAI promote the Contest around the world. On a recent private trip to Prescott, FAI Sports & Development Director Jean-Marc BADAN visited the Campus and exhibition, and thanked David ROY, Manager Flight Academics, ERAU, and Raymond J. JOHNSON, President of Honour of the FAI Aviation & Space Education Commission (CIEA), for their outstanding work and support in setting up the exhibition. He expressed the hope that ERAU and FAI would continue to expand their cooperation in promoting aviation and space activities to the younger generations. The theme of the 2010 FAI Young Artists Contest is "Flying with the Sun". The contest rules and an interpretation of this year's theme is available at www.fai.org/education/young_artists_contest.
