The beautiful city of Budapest welcomes the Red Bull Air Race over the weekend of 16-17 July.
It’s the mid-way point in the global series – Budapest is the fourth leg of the eight-stop 2016 Red Bull Air Race World Championship.
The action is scheduled to start at 14:00 UTC (3pm local time) on Saturday 17 July, and can be followed live online through the Red Bull Air Race site.
The full weekend schedule is:
Qualifying: Saturday 16 July, 14:00 UTC
Round of 14: Sunday 17 July, 12:00 UTC
Finals: Sunday 17 July, 1:40 UTC
A highlight of the race is the start – pilots fly directly underneath the city’s landmark Chain Bridge before starting their run. They must then complete a fast circuit around a pylon course laid out on the river, pulling 8G in the turn. It all comes down to the wire as every millisecond counts!
