Gerd Luxbauer

From David Hamilton – CIG President

"Gerd Luxbauer, a leading Austrian Competitor at many Championships and National Events lost his life whilst with his family on holiday.

I, as will many others of our Helicopter Family, will feel a great loss of a friend and fellow competitor. Gerd was an outstanding pilot, instructor and competitor to the highest standard. He set exceptional standards in all that he did.

I always remember his kindness, contribution to the sport, his encouragement to others and his willingness to help and advise. He was a shining example to us all.

We will miss him. On behalf of all his friends and colleagues in CIG I extend my deepest condolences to Regina, his widow and his two children, to whom I have written personally."
