The 2014 Annual Meeting of the FAI Medico-Physiological Commission (CIMP) was held on 27 and 28 June 2014 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The event was attended by 18 delegates and guest speakers from 12 FAI Members.
Next to current scientific aeromedical issues and physiological subjects, a medical opinion and experience exchange on medical licensing problems in worldwide sport aviation was held.
The FAI-CIMP anti-doping “TUE waiver” panel continued successfully to issue certificates in 2013 /14.
National, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) flight safety reports stressed once again the need to improve worldwide proactive flight safety measures which have to be supported by better accident investigations and statistics. The main focuses in Human Factors were a presentation and a workshop on Aerobatics flying. A presentation on this subject is published on the FAI-CIMP web page under “Training and Educational Material”.
