8th of July 2006 At last we are flying again ! The circuit took the pilots around the valley of Morzine, from Mont Chery to Le Marteau, then to Avoriaz, the chalet of the Gold Mines, La Chaux, the restaurant of Nyon, Corche Blanche and goal at the HQ in Morzine. 114 pilots completed the task.

5th of July 2006 As neither the two official take-off look good, the competition moves to Samoens, 30 km away, hoping for better conditions. Unfortunatly the cloud base remains too low to allow a task to take part.

3rd of July 2006 The 2nd task of the competition had to be stopped about an hour after the start point opened because of the big developments in the area of Morzine-Avoriaz. The pilots were asked to land and no one completed the 71km task set for today, which – according to the rules - meant that no one would be scored.

1st of July 2006 28 European nations and 130 pilots gathered in Morzine-Avoriaz and Les Gets, France, for the opening ceremony of the 9th Paragliding European Championship. They were joined by 4 non-European pilots, from Australia and Korea.

A Seminar For Event Directors

The first “FAI Seminar for Event Directors (SED)” was successfully held from 7 to 9 April 2006 at the Danish House of Sports at Bröndby/Copenhagen (DEN), under the leadership of Mr. Bengt-Eric FONSELL. The Seminar was attended by 26 persons from 20 different countries on 5 continents.
