FAI Centennial : Carlos Izquierdo, Philippe Broers, Manfred Ruhmer and Gin Song honoured

One of the roles of FAI is to give recognition to great performances by pilots of all kinds and to exceptional efforts made by individuals to promote and develop sporting aviation. The Centennial Conference in Paris, this October, celebrated the achievement of hang gliding and paragliding pilots Carlos Izquierdo, Philippe Broers and Manfred Ruhmer. Gin Song, who was not present, will receive his award later.

Jin and Broers honoured

WPRS Update 1st October 05

The World Pilot Ranking has been updated again in Paragliding, Paragliding Accuracy, Hang Gliding and Rigid Wings. Note that the date on the rankings shows December 1st because the ladders are recalculated every 3 months (quarterly) to even out the effects of the Northern and Southern hemisphere competition circuit. Competitions between now and December will be added and the rankings calculated, but older competitions won’t be devalued every month.

The Bureau will meet in October

Bureau04The next Bureau meeting will take place in Pleguien (France), from October 27th to the 30th. NACs and delegates are welcomed to put forward their suggestions to the Bureau members.

Note that the date on the rankings shows September 1st because the ladders are recalculated every 3 months (quarterly) to even out the effects of the Northern and Southern hemisphere competition circuit. Now you can sort by country, separate the Women's PG ranking, see who is scoring for a nations ranking and a "last updated" feature. Hopefully soon there will be a list of competitions that have been added to make life even easier.

Fifty-one pilots pilots 10 nations participated in the 3rd Paragliding Accuracy World Championships in Niska Banja, Serbia and Montenegro, from August the 7th to the 14th.

The World Pilot Ranking has been updated for 1st August in Paragliding, Hang Gliding and Rigid Wings. Note that the date on the rankings shows September 1st because the ladders are recalculated every 3 months to even out the effects of the Northern and Southern hemisphere competition circuit. There are several useful additions due to be added to the rankings soon, including the ability to sort by country, to separate the Women’s PG ranking, see who is scoring for a nations ranking, and a “last updated” feature. Paragliding Accuracy rankings have also been published.
