The 2 year rule

The current situation is that every pilot entering an international competition (FAI Category 1 or 2) must show his Sporting Licence. The country issuing the Licence is considered to be the country that pilot is flying for in Category 1 events. If a pilot wants to fly for another country, he will have to observe a 2 calendar year delay without flying in any Category 1 events before he can switch his allegiance. IPPI card update

To all National Hang Gliding/Paragliding Associations Following the introduction of the IPPI card in 1992, national associations and pilots throughout the world have benefited from the internationally recognised standards of the IPPI card. However a lot of pilots are still not using it. To encourage more pilots to use the IPPI card we would like all national hang gliding and paragliding associations to promote this card using the information found on CIVL web site. Some of those information badly need to be updated.

WPRS Update June 2005

On 1st May CIVL moved to the new ranking system for Paragliding. There are considerable changes and pilots are urged to check their name and ranking. Hang Gliding and Paragliding Accuracy are also updated.

Team size at the 2005 World Paragliding Championship

The November Paragliding Pilot Rankings have now been published. The WPRS Nations ranking of 15th Nov will set the team size for the Paragliding World Championship in Brazil 2005, according to section 7. The entry deadline is 09th January 2005.
