This year the focus is on a smaller number of events and an increased emphasis on supporting the events and creating a great image of these events which will benefit the events themselves, the FAI and Breitling.

7th FAI Women's World Gliding Championship in Issoudun, France

The 7th FAI Women's World Gliding Championship celebrated three new champions: the French Anne Ducarouge in 15m class, the German Christine Grote in Club Class and the strong German pilot Sue Kussbach that was awarded the gold medal in the standard for the third consecutive year.
The German team won the Team Cup.

The Paragliding World Championship has started!

The 13th FAI World Paragliding Championship started on July 13th in Sopot, Bulgaria, with an opening ceremony for officials and 150 pilots from 31 countries. The first task is being flown as we are publishing this News. All information, pictures, results... on the competition website.

2013 FAI Qualifying Sailplane GP in Zar, Poland - Last Chance to qualify

The final qualifying event for the 5th FAI Sailplane Grand Prix series will take place at ZAR in Poland 27th July to 3rd August, the winners of this event will qualify for the World Sailplane Grand Prix final to take place at Sisteron  in France during spring 2014.

Due to the poor weather during the Slovakia SGP at Prievidza there are still three places in the World final available for the winners of the ZAR SGP if there are sufficient entries.

It is still possible to enter this final qualifying event to qualify for the World Final and to fly against one of the Worlds greatest glider pilots Sebastian Kawa.

The event will be covered on the new official Sailplane Grand Prix web site that is being prepared for the 2014 final and the next series of Sailplane Grand Prix events.

Details of all the previous FAI Sailplane Grand Prix events can also be found on the new official site along with the list of pilots already qualified for the 2014 World final.

21st FAI World Precision Flying Championship in Bautzen, Germany: entries from 59 pilots and 16 countries so far

Preparations are in full swing and a remarkably large number of preliminary entries has already been received so far. The 21st FAI World Precision Flying Championship will take place at Bautzen Airfield in Saxony, Germany from 7th to 14th September 2013. At its meeting in Larnaca, Cyprus on 3rd November 2012, the General Aviation Commission (GAC) of the FAI had entrusted Deutscher Aero Club (DAeC - German Aero Club) with the organization of the event.

21st FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship: And Brazil it will be!

The CIA Plenary Meeting, held in Rio de Janeiro on March 22 and 23, has finally decided. The 21st FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship will be held in San Carlos/Brazil in 2014. This decision came along after long, difficult and tiresome discussions at the Plenary, but to the satisfaction of a majority of the delegates present. Competitors may now confidently start their preparations.

The World Games 2013: List of Parachuting and Paragliding competitors now official!

The list of the competitors selected for the Paragliding Accuracy and Parachuting Canopy Piloting events of The World Games 2013 has been released. In total, 36 athletes for each air sport gained entry to The World Games 2013 in Cali, Colombia.
