FAI President Frits Brink took part in a royal New Year’s reception in the Netherlands on 17 January 2017.
The FAI is organising a one day Air Sports in Asia Summit in Hong Kong on 20 March 2017. This summit is not only aiming at FAI members but also be open to anyone with an interest in air sports in Asia.
FAI and the Olympic Channel have reached a cooperation agreement to collaborate on content for the Olympic Channel.
The FAI, World Air Sports Federation, is putting itself at the centre of the international discussions about drones and drone sports as they happen around the world.
As the world governing body for all air sports recognised by the International Olympic Committee, FAI is responsible for world drone sports. As part of its work in this area, the Federation has now established a Working Group on matters related to drones, comprised of members of the FAI Executive Board and the Executive of the Aeromodelling Commission as well as senior FAI officials.
The FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015 delivered a global impact across over 200 nations in what was the fifth-largest world championships event in terms of athlete participation last year, according to the latest analysis from Sportcal’s Global Sports Impact [GSI] Project.

The sessions of the 110th FAI General Conference were held at the Westin Nusa Dua Hotel in Bali, Indonesia, on 14 and 15 October 2016.
Frits Brink from the Netherlands was elected yesterday as the new President of FAI at the 110th FAI General Conference in Bali, Indonesia.
Men and women from across the world of air sports were honoured tonight with the prestigious FAI medals and diplomas at the 2016 FAI Awards Ceremony in Indonesia.
FAI will hold an International Conference and Expo on drones in 2017, focusing on three areas: sports, innovation and safety.
