The FAI has today announced the start of the bid process for the World Air Games 2013. FAI Members, cities, regions, event organisers or commercial bodies from all over the world are invited to participate. Expressions of interest must be submitted to the FAI by no later than 30 November 2010. Aviation contributors celebrated at the 2010 FAI Awards Ceremony

Of the three last flying balloons, teams Germany 1 and Great Britain 3 have now reported to have safely landed. The Swiss team Switzerland 2, composed of Kurt Frieden and Pascal Witpraechtiger, are still in the lead with a distance flown of 2,435.08 km. At the time of writing the last balloon did not yet report back to the Competition Center and is now considered missing. Richard Abruzzo and Carol Rymer Davis from the American team USA2 were hit by severe weather over the Adriatic Sea early this morning. Search and Rescue operations are underway.
